Welcome, Year of the Tiger

Welcome, Year of the Tiger

Xin Nian Kuai Le aka. Happy New Year! This week we rang in the Year of the Tiger as we celebrated Chinese New Year. In Chinese culture, the tiger is the symbol of bravery, wisdom, and strength.

At Wesley, it is also the time for China Week. China week is an initiative to celebrate our school's connection and commitment to Chinese heritage, language, and culture. We focus school-wide on units that help our students immerse themselves in the culture and make connections all week long to facts and fun learning about China and Chinese New Year! This week we learned about New Years' Eve dinner, fireworks, the twelve zodiacs, lucky fruits, and things you must know about Chinese New Year!

Take a walk back through our previous China Week celebrations and our Mid-Autumn festival back in the fall. Then, enjoy pictures from this week's celebrations in the photo gallery below. Happy Chinese New Year and China Week, Wesley!
