Growing in Garden Club

Growing in Garden Club

Has your student shown interest in developing a green thumb? Wesley’s much-loved Garden Club is back for grades 1-8 and is filling up fast within each session! Throughout the year, we are hosting 6-week sessions that will be different depending on what season the session is in.

Students look forward to learning about ways to create sustainability within the community and how they can further create more ECOschool initiatives. In previous years, ECOschool initiates have looked like our ‘Last Out, Lights Off’ campaign. Throughout Garden Club, students will continue to think of new initiatives for our Energy Reductive campaign, Consumption and Waste campaign, and our Schoolyard Habitat campaign.

Another important aspect of Garden Club is that students get to see firsthand, some examples of good food choices that they can make at home. This not only helps create a more sustainable community, but it also helps those students and their families make a lasting impact on their health.

Parents, make sure to watch for the sign-up form next session in the Wesley Weekly (delivered to your email inbox each Thursday at 1:00 pm) because we only have 15 seats available per session. There is a $10 fee for each student to cover supplies. Meetings will take place each Wednesday from 3:30 pm - 4:30 pm with Mrs. Tomlin, the club sponsor, and garden lead.

We are excited to watch your students grow in Garden Club!
