We love the sunshine and getting outside in the Wesley garden. But gardening isn’t just for those summer months. We tend to the Wesley garden in the winter and are excited to partner with Trees Atlanta to keep growing green and healthy. Fourth grade’s Mr. Leftridge, along with Ms. Maxwell, lead the partnership with the non-profit that protects and improves Atlanta’s urban forest by planting, conserving, and educating. Trees Atlanta does this through volunteers.

They offer great resources for how to care for your own winter garden and events you can get involved with directly. Want to bring your family along and help reforest Atlanta’s parks? There are multiple opportunities this January at places like Freedom Park and Chosewood Park. You can help spruce up the gardens at the Beltline Arboretum or go bird watching in Grant Park. Are you ready to dip your toes into gardening and or want to grow and learn more? Check out the classes on fruit tree pruning or learn about the importance of habit restoration for amphibians. Find all this and more on the calendar of events.

We can’t wait to see how you get involved in winter gardening!
