“My journey to teaching has been interesting,” says eighth and ninth-grade teacher Ms. Tevina Haircrow. “I started working at a daycare center when I moved to Georgia. I knew my calling was to be in service but I had no clue where God was taking me. I enrolled in middle grades mathematics at Georgia State University with excellent professors and the rest was history from there.”

Ms. Haircrow joined the Wesley team in July of 2022 after a friend connected her to the school. “I currently teach eighth and ninth-grade math,” she says. “I enjoy teaching math because it always relates back to the real world and money.”

She loves when students communicate with mathematical discourse to prove their knowledge and understanding. When her students move on from her classroom, she hopes they take the skills and tools they learned from her math classes with them to succeed.

When asked what her favorite thing about teaching at Wesley was, Ms. Haircrow exclaimed, “My favorite thing about teaching at Wesley is the inviting staff and the support from the administration.”

Outside of school, you can find Ms. Haircrow traveling, reading one of her favorite books, or spending time with her loved ones. We’re so glad your teaching journey brought you to Wesley, Ms. Haircrow! We can’t wait to see how your students grow throughout the year!
