Meet Ms. Verscie Montford-Gay, our Kindergarten teacher for two years. Before joining the Wesley family, Ms. Montford-Gay taught kindergarten and third grade. She mentions that these diverse experiences have shaped her teaching style and deepened her passion for early childhood education.

Even though Ms. Montford-Gay is in her second year at Wesley, something she deeply appreciates about this community is, “the incredible support from the administration."

She says, "Whether it’s behavioral guidance or academic assistance, the level of encouragement here is truly remarkable." She notes that this kind of support is becoming rare.

“To find a school that prioritizes such robust support for its teachers has made my experience at Wesley a breath of fresh air."

Ms. Montford-Gay finds teaching kindergarten both challenging and rewarding. One of the most fulfilling parts of her role is nurturing young learners into lifelong scholars. “As their first encounter with formal education, I have a unique opportunity to shape their perceptions of school and learning. I take this responsibility very seriously, and I genuinely love every minute spent with my students," she explains.

What truly excites Ms. Montford-Gay about working with our Kindergarten students is witnessing those magical moments when the light bulb goes off in students' brains, and they have learned a new standard.

Beyond the classroom, Ms. Montford-Gay’s passion for learning and encouragement extends to her practice of writing poetry and hosting a podcast centered around supporting and encouraging women. She also enjoys spending quality time with her family, and shopping or curling up to a good book in her downtime.

We are so appreciative of everything Ms. Montford-Gay does for our students!
