Wesley International Academy Student Clubs

Wesley offers a variety of clubs in which students can participate to learn new skills, build friendships, and develop as well-rounded individuals. 

Robotics Club

Students learn the basics of robotics and explore technology in new and fun ways. Contact: Mr. Kariem

HRRB Literary Club

The Helen Ruffin Reading Bowl promotes literacy and a love of reading. Students in grades 4-8 are eligible and have the opportunity to participate in an annual state-wide competition as club members. You can learn more here. Contact: Ms. Tomlin

Gardening Club

Get dirty and learn to grow in the Wesley Gardening Club which nurtures our school garden. Contact: Ms. Turner

Girls on the Run

A safe and fun club for girls to learn healthy habits and exercise together. Contact: Ms. Tomlin

Chinese Atlanta Dance Company

A select dance troupe that performs traditional and modern Chinese dance routines. Contact: Mr. Chung

Chinese Dance Accompaniment

Students in 5th – 8th grades are invited to audition in this Chinese drumming ensemble. This club performs at the PTSA Fall Feastival, China Night, and Chinese New Year. They also performed for Chinese delegates who visited Wesley. Contact: Ms. Tonge

Character Council

An MYP club that promotes service, citizenship, and strong personal character. Contact: Dr. Dukes

8th Grade Student Government

Students have the opportunity to run for positions on the Student Government to learn about service and leadership.

Band

Students learn band fundamentals and how to read music through tutoring. Band is open to students of any age, but they must own their own instruments. Contact: Ms. Tonge

Glee Club

Started in 2013, Wesley’s Glee Club holds auditions each semester for students in 4th-8th grades. They perform at school functions, such as pep rallies, recitals, and sign-o-grams, as well as off campus. Past events include: Six Flags Vocal Competition, Atlanta Music Festival at Emory University, Maynard Jackson cluster events, Georgia State Basketball games, Association for the Study of African American Life and History Centennial Celebration, and more.  Contact: Ms. Ice
