After months of distance learning, it is summer at last. We’re glad you’ll have time to relax and enjoy time with your family. We know you also want to continue learning. Ms. Tomlin, our Library Media Specialist, shared some great resources for families during distance learning, and you can continue to use those over the summer months.
Mrs. Tomlin reminds us that, “Summer reading is essential in combating the “summer slide” which is defined as the tendency for students … to lose some of the achievement gains they made during the previous school year.'” You can find the details about the summer reading requirements here. This should be a fun experience for your students!
Remember, if you want your Chinese skills to grow over the summer, the Chinese Department shares some fantastic resources for you here.
Here are some more recommended online resources you can continue to use over the summer as well:
- GPB Daily Learning Resources
- Typing Web
- Raising Wonder
- Georgia Libraries Kids eBooks
- Common Sense Media Resources
- Stimola Literary Studio
- Big Green at Home
Have fun, stay safe, and keep learning!
