We’ve had a wonderful time celebrating the accomplishments and culture of African Americans this month at Wesley. Students have participated in activities around the theme of “Lift Every Voice” They’ve learned more about the Harlem Renaissance and other stories and leaders of black history. Each day during morning announcements, students heard a “Did you know that…?” statement. They gained lots of knowledge that they can share with you. Please ask them what they learned!
Want a glimpse into our activities? One day we invited students and staff to dress in traditional African clothing and/or clothing representative of Black Culture. We loved seeing so many of our staff and students take part!
Our teachers and students also decorated their classroom doors to highlight and celebrate Black History. Check them out!
