An International Baccalaureate World Programme School

Wesley International Academy was honored to host award-winning author Thanhha Lai on September 5 shortly after the release of her new novel Butterfly Yellow. She shared about the book that explores themes of the Vietnam War, immigration and family.

Fifth and seventh-grade students got to hear about her process of writing, the effects of war and immigration on the author, and her three books.

Students who purchased the book got to attend a book signing with Lai. Library Media Specialist Andrea Tomlin worked in partnership with Little Shop of Stories, who donated 20% of the book sales back to Wesley.
