An International Baccalaureate World Programme School

Wesley has received good news recently since our test scores were released. We know our students and teachers have been working extremely hard to demonstrate the growth at Wesley, and we are excited to celebrate our accomplishments with the entire Wesley family!

First, State School Superintendent Richard Woods released the 2018 list of Title I Distinguished Schools – the highest-performing Title I schools in the state, and Wesley was one of the three schools given this honor!

“In addition to identifying schools in need of additional support, it’s important for us to recognize and applaud schools when they’re doing well,” Woods said. “These public schools are among the very best in the state and are doing extraordinary work on behalf of their students and communities. I extend my thanks and congratulations to every teacher, administrator, staff member, student, parent, and community partner who contributed to their success.”

Distinguished Schools are among the top 5% of all Title I schools in Georgia when ranked according to their most recent CCRPI score. All Distinguished Schools will be eligible to apply for the National ESEA Distinguished Schools Program award, sponsored by the National Association of ESEA State Program Administrators, in 2019.

Secondly, Wesley was among the 46 APS schools that “Beat the Odds!” this year. This is a measure used to analyze school success.

We are deeply honored to receive these markers of success. We know everyone at Wesley – from our teachers to our students, to our staff and to our parents – has worked diligently over the last year to get our scores up and demonstrate to those outside our school all of the good things our community is capable of.

We also know that our goal is to be one of the top schools in the state, and we are committed to working toward that end. Even as we reach for those new heights, however, we are excited to celebrate these milestones and accomplishments. Congratulations, Wesley!
